Low-light (Night) Shooting
Low-light shooting will be introduced in this class using independent flashlight techniques and optional weapon mounted lights.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of a level 2 handgun course from BAFT or equivalent from a BAFT recognized school. Current LE/MIL exempt.
Subjects covered include:
How light affects the human eye
Discuss effective use of available light and darkness
Discuss lighting principles
Introduction to handheld and handgun mounted flashlight techniques.
two non-supported handheld flashlight techniques
five supported handheld flashlight techniques
two two-handed flashlight techniques
Utilizing each of the above techniques on the range
Identification of your personal selected techniques
Range practice using your preferred handheld techniques
Goal
This class is designed to introduce the student to multiple flashlight techniques so they can identify which technique(s) work for them and then provide additional range time utilizing those techniques so they are well grounded in the practical application of those techniques.

Flashlight with extra batteries
Leather gun belt (or other appropriate material)
Leather or Kydex (strong –side) belt (preferred) or inside the waistband Holster Note: the holster MUST cover the trigger and trigger guard.
Magazine pouch
minimum of three magazines
Weapon-mounted light optional
Weather appropriate clothing for and outdoor range.
