Introduction to Handguns
This class is designed for individuals that do not yet own a firearm, are considering purchasing a firearm, are not yet comfortable using a firearm, and/or are afraid of shooting but want to learn. Subjects covered include:
- Basic firearms safety 
- Dominant eye 
- Every day carry accessories 
- Firearms safety at home 
- Firearms safety at the range 
- Handgun/caliber selection and set up 
- How a handgun operates 
- Presenting the handgun from the holster 
- Proper care and maintenance of handgun 
- Proper loading and unloading 
- Revolver vs semi-auto pistol 
- Shooting stance, grip, and trigger manipulation 
Goals
Our goal is the student upon completion of this course will have a new level of comfort and appreciation for handguns. The student will have a basic understanding of: handgun safety; fundamentals of shooting; handgun handling, storage, and transportation; and proper maintenance and cleaning for revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.
